History Chartered to Algoma Steel, fall, 1974; run between Canadian Sault and Burns Harbor, IN.As THOROLD: Suffered power failure below Lock 2 in Welland Canal, May 3, 1979. Vessel dropped anchor, swinging sideways in channel. After diver inspection, vessel taken in tow by tug JAMES E. MCGRATH to tie-up location, where repairs were made.
As THOROLD: Ran aground in the St. Lawrence River April 22, 1983. Three tugs and a barge were on hand to help as grain was offloaded. She was refloated the next day and is scheduled for drydock after finishing unloading at Halifax.
Disposition Sold for service overseas, 2015.
