As THOMAS MAYTHAM: Struck Van Buren Street bridge, Chicago, IL, in October 1924, severely damaging pilothouse. Stranded on Keweenaw Peninsula between Point Isabelle and the Betsy River, on December 1, 1926, in blinding snowstorm. Released by wrecking tug FAVORITE; $40,000 damages.
Disposition Torpedoed by German submarine, June 18, 1942, northwest of Colon, in position 10.10N x 81.30W.
