History Acquired by U.S. Navy, December 9, 1940; commissioned on March 25, 1941. Served on patrol duty, New England (1941-1942) and Caribbean (1942-1944). Converted to weather patrol out of Boston, 1944. Assigned as relief flagship, Commander-in-Chief, Atlantic Fleet, at Philadelphia, November 16, 1944. Decommissioned at Charleston, SC, May 10, 1946 and removed from Navy List, June 15, 1946. Transferred to U.S. Maritime Commission, October 17, 1946 and sold out of service, April 24, 1947. Documented as pilotboat in 1951.
