History In collision with schooner FALCON, May, 1855, in St. Clair Flats; $150 loss.Sunk in collision with steamer FOREST QUEEN, about four miles above Fort Gratiot, MI, Lake Huron, on April 27, 1856, bound from Detroit for Saginaw. Had 134 on board of which twelve were lost. FOREST QUEEN struck larboard side of NORTHERNER, about twenty-five feet abaft the stem, cutting almost to amidships; the latter sank within five minutes. Hull valued at $20,000; cargo valued at $30,000.
