Vessel History

Rebuilds Rebuilt and documented as new vessel, 1955 (53.25 x 18.16 x 3.66; 43 gross - 40 registered), with Blind River, Ont., as port of build. Rebuilt at Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., 1974, as excursion vessel (70'; 107 gross - 73 registered).
History Vessel received only U.S. enrollment at Port Huron, MI, dated April 9, 1891 (#105); surrendered at Port Huron, MI, on August 14, 1900 as \"sold foreign.\" Vessel remained undocumented under Canadian ownership, 1900-1955.
As MARK TWAIN: Sank at dock in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., in summer 1977, for undetermined reason. Salvaged by Purvis Marine, which acquired her through salvage rights.
Swamped November 17, 1978 at Bay City, MI; vessel was tied up near site of old Third Street Bridge, when dropping water levels caused her to rest on the bottom and tilt; vessel filled with water when water levels returned to normal.
Disposition Out of documentation after 1978.
