Rebuilds Converted to bulk carrier and lengthened by Blythswood Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Glasgow, Scotland; entire hull forward of after cabins scrapped (713.50 x 75.16 x 39; 18660 gross - 13012 registered).
History Mid-section sold to Spanish shipbreakers; arrived under tow of tug SEEFALKE, at Bilbao, Spain, May 28, 1961, for scrapping.Converted vessel arrived at Quebec, September 1, 1962.
Originally constructed as T2-SE-A1 class tanker.
As LAKE WINNIPEG: Struck dock at unknown location; damage discovered on August 23, 1971; estimated loss of $98,000.
In collision with Canadian propeller WHEAT KING at Seven Islands, P.Q., May 7, 1972; $51,000 loss.
Sustained minor bow damage on November 25, 1976, when she touched Pier #61 in Montreal Harbor while going to anchor. Received permanent repairs during winter lay-up at Hamilton, Ont.
Grazed the breakwall while departing Duluth, MN on May 24, 1980. The following day, she grounded as she approached Detour Passage when her steering gear failed. She was freed the following day. Her port and starboard ballast tanks were punctured in the incident.
Disposition Arrived in tow at Lisbon, Portugal, May 19, 1985, for scrapping.
