||Converted to dry cargo bulk carrier and lengthened, 1960-1961, by Schlieker-Werft Shipyard, Hamburg, Germany (713.42 x 75.25 x 34.42; 16628 gross - 12964 net). Received bow thrusters at Port Weller, Ont., fall, 1973.
||Launched as T2-SE-A1 class tanker for U.S. Maritime Commission. Operated by American Pacific Steamship Co., Portland, OR, in 1946. Passed upbound, Detroit, on maiden voyage into lakes, July 16, 1961.As NORTHERN VENTURE: Struck arrester at Lock 3, Welland Canal, May 13, 1971, tying up traffic for twelve hours.
Lost power in Lake Ontario in April, 1977, towed to Port Colborne by RED WING. Received repairs at shipyard there.
Canadian register closed on November 9, 1983.
