Rebuilds Navy measures, 1940-1947 (94.42 x 25 x 8.5; 158 displaced); converted to net tender. Change of measures, 1947, to original measures.
History Purchased by U.S. Navy on November 28, 1940, renamed and classified as USS NAMONTACK (YN-46); converted to net tender at New York Navy Yard; placed in service March 18, 1941. Departed New York, March 26, 1941 and arrived at Norfolk, VA, on March 28, reporting to Commandant, 5th Naval District. Based at Little Creek, VA, for duration of war, performed tug and net and boom tending services until 1946. One exception, May-July, 1942, was when she served on Inshore Patrol duty. She was reclassified YNT-14 on May 1, 1942, and again reclassified, YTB-738, on August 2, 1945. She was placed out of service on August 21, 1946, struck from the Naval Register on December 30, 1946, and sold on April 30, 1947.
