Vessel History

Rebuilds Converted to high-speed transport at Naval Frontier Base Tompkinsville, NY, from July to October 1944. After rebuild, designated APD-79 instead of DE-694.
History Served in European-Mediterranean Theater 1943-1944. Assigned to Pacific Theater after rebuild and participated in the Battle of Okinawa and postwar minesweeping activities. Served in the Far East, 1945-1946. Decommissioned at Naval Base San Diego, May 31, 1946. Laid up in Pacific Reserve Fleet from 1947-1964. Struck from Navy Register in 1964.
Disposition Sold for scrapping in 1965 to Zidell, Portland, OR.
